Bring Spring Inside! Home Decoration Ideas for Spring

We love spring! Color is finally starting to pop up from the ground. There are longer days. And there's an opportunity for refreshed décor inside the home. We have ideas (lots of ideas!), so feel free to use our spring décor suggestions to create a bright and uplifting springtime look in your home.

Happy colors, interesting plant-like patterns, and lighter materials are a few keys when you’re focusing on spring décor. From simplistic accessory additions to large transformations on a feature wall, any home with any budget can feel like spring in no time.

Springtime Table Design

Nothing brings the season into your home like decorating your surfaces. Whether it’s the dining room table, a coffee table, or any other style of table you can think of, creating a unique, stylish, and seasonal spread will establish a lovely ambiance for yourself and your guests.

If you’re looking to create a calming tablescape, trend toward cool colors (blue, purple, green) or soft pastels. Add some fresh flowers, wooden features, bright white, and a bit of burlap or twine for a slightly rustic feel.

If you’re hoping to bring the sunshine inside, pull in some yellows. Even though lemons are often thought of as a summer fruit, a bowl of their bright yellow happiness can definitely provide energy and the promise of longer days ahead.

Swap Your Accessories

One of the quickest ways you can transform a room in spring is to swap out your pillows, throws, artwork, and décor.

For those pillows, floral or colorful ones always make it feel like springtime, and you can choose from brightly colored options to more muted designs. Feel free to mix and match, too! After all, your design should be tailored to YOU and what makes YOU happy!

Unless you have a vacuum sealer, pillows can take up quite a bit of storage space, so consider purchasing plain white pillows with pillow covers instead. That way, you can swap out patterns, colors, and textures with specific seasons – spring, winter, or otherwise!

More accessory ideas:

❤ Consider adding an extra, lighter blanket to your current bedspread.

❤ Layer your accessories. Two throws. Multiple pillows. Layers!

❤ Create an Easter display on (you guessed it!) a table.

❤ Change out your artwork for pieces that feel like spring.

❤ Swap out the rug in your main living area.

Just Add Flowers

It’s featured in many of the pictures in this article, and that’s for good reason! Adding flowers to your home is one of the loveliest ways to create springtime in your space. Fresh (or fake!) flowers on the bedside, the mantle, or the dining table help bring nature inside.

Think ahead to future years, too! Start creating places around your garden or within your home where you can grow the flowers you love most. Once you have your own stems to cut, you can enjoy fresh flowers throughout your entire growing season.

Embrace Natural Light

With the days getting longer, it's important to take advantage of the increase in natural light that could be pouring in from your windows. Replace heavy drapes with sheer curtains or blinds to create a light and airy atmosphere. Use mirrors strategically to reflect light and make your space appear larger and brighter. You can also consider adding additional lighting fixtures to brighten up dimly lit areas. (We love lighting, so ask us if you need help!)
